Eagles Rescued, then Released at Starved Rock

Two young eagles, rescued six months earlier and raised in wildlife shelter, were released at Plum Island in late November. The event drew a large crowd and was covered by the press. Bald eagles were once almost extinct, but now draw tourists, bird watchers and photographers to the area. Read more about the event.
